DISCOVER YOUR LIFE PURPOSE WITH THE LAW OF ATTRACTION

Do you ever wonder why you’re here and whether you have a purpose that you’ve not yet discovered?  Find out how the Law of Attraction can help you work it out.

Many people at some point in their life begin to wonder “Why am I here?”

Maybe there’s something within us that prompts it… a fundamental human need to have a sense of purpose of life.  Others may already feel completely fulfilled and happy in the knowledge that they live their life with a purpose or vocation.

Of course, we all have different life experiences and challenges that contribute to making us unique and individual. We then attract to us those things that reinforce our beliefs about ourselves and while many people live happily without questioning their existence, others are drawn to embarking on a journey of self-development to find that “thing” that is missing from their life.

More often than not this leads to us to discovering a purpose in life that connects us to who we truly are, our real/higher self.  It makes sense then that if we can find a job/business/vocation that helps us travel this path faster, then we’re going to feel more fulfilled sooner.

A good way to start to figure this out is to declutter our conscious minds and really work out what we want to achieve in our life.  Writing ideas on paper helps empty the mind and will ensure more thoughts continue to flow as new ideas come to us.  For those of us who write a journal, a look through our notes may discover some inner thoughts and desires we’ve already written about.

So how can we begin? It's really useful at first to decide what you “don’t want” in your life.  Once you work out what you don’t want it will help clarify what you “do want”. Asking yourself some questions might help, for example:

  • What would I like to change in my life?

  • What would my ideal day look like?

  • If money were no object what would I do every day?

  • What do I love doing?  What is my passion?

  • What inspires me?

  • What work would I do every day even if I weren’t paid?

  • If I won big on the lottery… what would be the first thing I would do with the money?

  • What makes me feel happy?

  • What is the most important thing in your life today?

  • Who would I like to be like?

  • Your answers might help stimulate your imagination and identify passions, values and goals.  Trusting that you have a higher purpose will keep you in an open and allowing place where thoughts will continue to flow to you.

It could be that you have a completely happy life in all areas but still feel that something is missing or that you don’t have “a purpose”.  It took me a long time to figure this out for myself.  I’ve always been pretty happy with “my lot” but it wasn’t until an impulse came to me to pursue a career as a Law of Attraction Life Coach that I felt a deep down knowing that this was my purpose.

Another powerful tool to help clear the mind of distractions and create clarity is to meditate for 15 - 30 minutes to put you in a receiving mode for new thoughts and ideas to come to you.

If you find it hard to meditate, you could start with deep breathing with your eyes closed for the same period.  A walk in nature (beach/park/countryside) will also help relax your mind while you simply focus on the beauty around you… maybe the sound of waves, wind or wildlife.  Just be in the moment and work out what makes you smile.

Be open to new ideas suddenly coming out of nowhere…  these impulses or prompts are usually a sign of a direction to follow.

When you think you have discovered your purpose, you may wonder if it’s right.  The best way to know is to use your “inner compass” which is like a gut feeling.  It’s all about how it makes you feel.  Does it excite you?  Does it give you a deep knowing that this is it?   Your “inner compass” will always guide you toward the path of least resistance to your greatest flow or happiness.  Does it feel light or heavy?   If it feels light, it’s just right.  When in doubt, just chill out, something isn’t quite right for you.

Here are some examples of life purposes:

  • Giving back to the community

  • Sharing yoga or any form of exercise/martial arts/therapies with the world

  • Charity work

  • Inspiring others with art

  • Environmental campaigning

  • Filming wildlife to share with the world

  • Missionary work

  • Healthcare

  • Inspirational speaking

Once you are completely sure of your life purpose, whether it’s personal or work related, writing down a mission statement can work as a guide to be at the centre of everything you do in your life so that you stay aligned with what you know your path is.

For example, my mission statement is: “To help empower people by sharing my personal experiences and to co-create with the Universe, manifesting what they desire in their lives by working with the Law of Attraction”.

If you feel you just can’t work it out, don’t worry about it! Just follow the path of your natural desires, talents and passions with the full intention of bringing happiness to yourself and others … and by focusing upon serving a purpose, your purpose will serve you.
